Two timber pedestrian bridges threading an award-winning wetland park, engineered to sit lightly in a sensitive stormwater landscape.
The challenge
The reserve's award-winning wetland manages stormwater for Westgate, so any pedestrian crossing had to sit lightly in a sensitive landscape and keep the park open to the public.
What we did
Urban Solutions provided the structural design for two timber pedestrian bridges, threading them through the wetland setting with minimal footprint.
The outcome
Two timber spans carry people across the reserve while full public access to the park was retained throughout.
